You’re Unwelcome
In October 2020, a leaked document showed the UK government sought for the approaches to stop refugees from coming by erecting a floating wall in the English Channel, alongside other proposals such as keeping people on disused ferries at sea, building detention camps off the coast of Africa, use water cannons against dinghies, sending navy warships to intercept boat, and creating an offshore centre in Rwanda.

While a lot of us laughed off at the source two years ago, the impossible became possible. In April 2022, Rwanda goverment entered an agreement to assist the UK on processing refugees, in exchange for financial benefits.
Humanity should not be any form of bargaining chip.
“You’re Unwelcome,” is an immersive experience on a lifeboat crossing the English Channel. From a personal experience and observation living in the United Kingdom as an immigrant, the system has been seen with selectiveness, unfairness and fascism that not everyone would have been aware of, or just too used to be in.
For those who want to seek asylum status in the UK, the only way to obtain the status is to be physically present on the soil. For those who are not able to have a valid visa to enter the UK, many of them have risked their lives crossing the English Channel by boat to seek a chance for survival.
For those who want to obtain a work permit in the UK, there is price tag on the value of how much a person could be earning, while a few special occasions are allowed for selected professions with a lower income mark.
HUMAN IS NOT A PRODUCT. No one’s right to a legal presence should be monetised.
