Inside Out
There has been a history of discrimination against Asians in western society. Especially since the break-out of the pandemic, hate crimes targeting East Asians have escalated. While being a Chinese-like person is not easily accepted, or is too easy to be ignored in western communities, being non-heterosexual is also unwelcomed within conservative cultures of their own. This project depicts the living state of being both Asian and gay, and the societal and cultural pressure they perceive. Furthermore, it aims to provoke a conversation on this forgotten justice, which parasites in between the controversy of white supremacy and the ongoing fight for black live matters.
